Anna was a BBC producer before she trained as a healer and massage therapist. She was always fascinated by traditional medicine and the therapeutic effects of massage, but it took her own serious illness to persuade her to give up her career in London and explore healing in depth. Anna now devotes her time to writing, healing. and developing her knowledge of medicinal herbs.
She started Hand Magic Healing™ in 2005 to offer a combination of body and mind therapy that produces rapid results. Her unique treatment is derived from her own experience in healing, as well as the wisdom of others, and has been shown to work through the experience of dozens of satisfied clients. Besides her therapy, Anna writes about herbs and traditional medicine. You can find her regular column in Organic Gardening Magazine, and she also writes for the BBC, the Times and the Daily Telegraph.
JOHN PARKINSON, HERBALIST TO CHARLES I
For several years Anna researched the story of her ancestor, John Parkinson, who was a key figure in the development of Western herbal medicine and the British passion for gardening. Her biography of John Parkinson, ‘Nature’s Alchemist: John Parkinson Herbalist to Charles I’ was published in November 2007 by Frances Lincoln Ltd. and is available wherever good books are sold.
The novel way in which plants and history are intertwined in Anna’s book has made it a hit with a wide range of readers. The Telegraph made it one of the top 10 books of the year.
